Farewell from HAAR + ValleyMLS CEO Josh McFall

01/23/2023

Farewell from Josh McFall, HAAR & ValleyMLS CEO

To our members and subscribers at HAAR & ValleyMLS.com,
Since 2015, it has been my honor to serve as your CEO of HAAR and ValleyMLS.com – two organizations that play a role in the massive success that our community has become. Today, I am submitting notice of resignation as your CEO, effective February 10, 2023.
For a little bit more than seven years, we’ve worked alongside each other to position HAAR as the top trade association in the region. We’ve worked together to strengthen ValleyMLS.com – a multiple listing service that can’t go a month without being nationally recognized for its excellence. We’ve worked side-by-side to foster a local housing market that couldn’t be stopped by uncertainty, inflation, or even a global pandemic.
Over the next month, I will work closely with the Leadership Team and our Boards of Directors to make this transition one that is seamless and continues to tackle our mission of informing, influencing and empowering a thriving real estate market for Realtors, their clients and the community.
I am sincerely grateful for the lessons I’ve learned – and the laughs I’ve had – along the way.
Thank you again for everything you’ve done to strengthen the trust, reliability and success that comes with the Realtor® brand. I can’t wait to see what HAAR and ValleyMLS.com do next.
Your friend,
Josh McFall

WHNT: ‘Realtors in Action’ collects clothes for Downtown Rescue Mission

12/12/2022

WHNT Channel 19 recently covered REALTORS® in Action (RiA)’s efforts to collect more than 200 pieces of winter clothing for the community:
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A Huntsville realtor organization hosted a winter clothes drive to support the Downtown Rescue Mission.
Realtors in Action collected clothes at their office in downtown Huntsville over the last month. They brought more than 300 items including jackets, pants, gloves, and shoes.
The chair of Realtors in Action says the organization wanted to do its part to help with the issue of homelessness.
“We have a large population of homeless unfortunately,” said Ginny Brandau, chair of Realtors in Action. “It is something that is, of course, nationwide, but we just felt like, you know, if they had some warm coats, scarves, gloves, socks, whatever… any little thing is a help, and we want to do our part.”

Farewell to Mike Sandoval!

08/05/2022

Please join us in bidding Mike Sandoval a fond farewell! Mike, everyone’s favorite around the office at HAAR & ValleyMLS, is leaving us at the end of the month on August 30th.
Born in La Jolla, California, Mike has also lived in Hawai’i, but has called North Alabama home since 1968. A sports junkie and renaissance man, Mike has helped to build our industry since earning his license in 1996. He is a three-time Realtor® of the Year with the Morgan County Association of Realtors®, a two-time board president at MCAOR and served in some capacity at the association from 2000 until 2017 when he joined HAAR as Professional Development Manager.
Mike is an Alabama and Braves fan, but his connection to all sports is most evident when he talks about his favorite kind of player – one who outworks anyone else on the field. His affinity for those ‘overachievers’ is mirrored in the passion and work ethic he has brought to every office he’s joined.
We’ll miss Mike, but he’s not going far. If you would like to reach out to him, you can do so at mike@valleymls.com.
If you or someone you know is interested in serving as HAAR’s next Professional Development Manager, please email Josh McFall at josh@valleymls.com.
