Scam Alert – Jan 19, 2023. SCAM ALERT! We are receiving multiple reports of scammers targeting utility customers this morning. The approach is the usual “you are about to be disconnected” ploy, where they try to get you to give them bank information or to buy gift cards to make payment. The scammers are targeting residential and business customers. If you receive this type of call, JUST HANG UP! You can always check the status of your account by calling the Customer Information Center at 256-535-1200 or through the My Account feature of our website (www.hsvutil.org). Huntsville Utilities does not threaten customers with disconnection over the phone. Do not give our personal or financial information to anyone who calls you requesting it. If you feel you have been the victim of a scam, contact your financial institution and local law enforcement immediately.
