RECAP: October Virtual HAAR + ValleyMLS.com Meeting

HAAR and ValleyMLS.com members gathered virtually on Thursday, October 1st for important industry updates and approval of our 2021 budgets.

The meeting began with brief presentations from our sponsors Legacy Homes and Iberia Bank First Horizon.

Silas Brown, Legacy Homes:
Silas shared how the building industry has dealt with material shortages due to factory closings and a shortage of skilled labor, in Alabama specifically. To adjust to the challenges, the builders have hosted virtual sales meetings, implemented social distancing practices, and rearranged construction schedules to accommodate for delays. Silas says the biggest thing they’ve done to ensure they persevere through this time is keeping a positive mental attitude.

Melanie Mullins, Iberia Bank First Horizon:
Melanie offered an update on the mortgage industry and challenges faced by current buyers. Melanie says the biggest thing is making sure buyers are understanding of the changing processes and fast paced timelines for mortgage loans and refinancing.
