Prior to her election to the Huntsville City Council in 2014, Dr. Jennie Robinson served three terms on the Huntsville City Schools Board of Education. Before being elected to the School Board in 2002, Dr. Robinson served five times as a PTA president in Huntsville schools. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) and chaired the State Legislative Committee for AASB.
Dr. Robinson was elected President of the City Council on Nov. 7, 2016.
Dr. Robinson received her Doctor of Philosophy and Master’s Degree in Consumer Behavior from Purdue University, and she owns a management consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and leadership development for corporations and non-profits.
She is a graduate of Leadership Alabama and Leadership Huntsville. She received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Leadership Huntsville-Madison County in 2006. She also serves on the boards of Leadership Huntsville-Madison County and the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville.
Dr. Robinson and her husband, Dr. Michael Robinson, are the parents of five children, and they are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
