Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® Names Broker Excellence Award Winner.
On Saturday, January 12, 2019, The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® announced the winner of the 2018 Broker Excellence Award at their 2019 REALTOR® Gala. This year’s winner is REALTOR® Jim Hoekenschnieder of Legend Realty.
This is only the second time this award has been given and is meant to recognize a broker leader that stands for professionalism, agent training, leadership and association involvement. Brokers were nominated by their peers and while there were many deserving nominees, this year’s winner stood out from the rest. Jim Hoekenschnieder has been a REALTOR® for 14 years, and held the position of Qualifying Broker for 10 of those years. In the area of professionalism, this broker leads by example, and expects integrity from each agent. Education is a key component to the brokerage’s brand and success. All new agents go through a 5 week mandatory training called “Start to Finish”, which takes them through the processes of Real Estate. This course, along with contract training classes taught by the broker, a yearly class assisting agents with goal-setting, and weekly classes led by the top 20 performers in the brokerage shows that education is a priority from the top down.
Hoekenschnieder has also been involved at the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS as a member and past-chair of the Education Committee as well as Finance & Budget, and one year of service on the executive committee. Hoekenschnieder has also served in the community as a leader in his place of worship, on his HOA board, and in numerous civic and charitable organizations. But his 10 years spent coaching YMCA basketball has been the most rewarding of all of these positions.
