After a rigorous process to select a candidate interview panel for 2020 Elections, as well as numerous candidate interviews and completed questionnaires, the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORSĀ® (HAAR) is pleased to announce the following candidate endorsements for upcoming contested primary elections in Madison County on March 3rd.
Valerie Miles expressed a passion for educating the public through the role of Tax Collector to take the frustration out of the process for residents, as well as a compassion and desire to help them solve their taxation problems. Her drive for the Madison County community, desire for collaboration between Tax Collector, Tax Assessor and Probate offices, as well as a high problem-solving skill set have earned her HAAR’s endorsement in the March 3rd primary.
For County Commission District 1: Tom Brandon
Tom Brandon has a clear dedication to the issues facing Madison Countyās First District. His desire to impact his community is displayed through boots-on-the-ground involvement in community development and growth. Brandon brings administrative, business, and organizational experience to his campaign, with a platform focused on prioritizing necessary infrastructure, green space, and recreation necessary for district residentsā quality of life.
For County Commission District 6: JesHenry Malone
Incumbent County Commissioner JesHenry Malone has a record of taking action to solve the problems faced by his district, while being a smart steward of the district funds to meet residentsā needs.
District 6 has tremendous potential for growth and Commissioner Malone has the knowledge and leadership to guide his community in the right direction.
For County School Board District 3: Howell Lee
Howell Lee has a laser focus on workforce development in todayās changing labor market in Madison County.
He has worked on the local, regional, and state level as a champion for education and career development.
Howell is a friend to the REALTORSĀ® and Builders through his career-long support of the industry.
Other March 3rd Local Races

HAAR plans to meet with all candidates, even those without opposition in their campaigns, before their general elections in our mission to elect REALTOR Champions and educate them on homeownership and private property rights.
