Property tax increases in Alabama are out of control. Some counties across the state have increased property taxes by as much as 68% year-to-year, and homeowners, land owners, and businesses are suffering as a result.
Alabamians need protections put in place that shield them from these massive property tax increases and create stability in the tax appraisal process.
Ask them to amend House Bill 73 – which is backed by Rep. Phillip Pettus, Sen. David Sessions, and others – and restore the original 5% cap on annual tax increases.
