2022 CE BLITZ
Beginning With the End in Mind – the Alta settlement statement and how to correctly estimate settlement charges-CE Class
Date: Wednesday, July 21, 2022, 1:00-4:00 pm
Location: HAAR- 535 Monroe St. NW or Virtual via Zoom
Instructor: Alan Judge
Class Description: In order to help their clients, reach their desired net proceeds for selling a home or prepare buyers for what funds will be needed to purchase a home, Realtors must understand how to connect the settlement statement to the contract as well as be able to correctly estimate costs involved.
By fully understanding the potential costs involved in a real estate transaction, the Realtor can become effective at negotiating those costs according to the needs of each individual client. Students will learn how to take the unique information/goals provided by their client and work backward with the closing numbers in order to meet that goal. This class also teaches students how to read a settlement statement and explain line by line to their clients where each fee originates in the contract. This skill prevents unwelcome “surprises” at closing when a client can understand that each fee correlates to a legal document they have signed and indeed matches the goals they conveyed to their Realtor. Additionally, the class will provide realtors with a free online tool that enables realtors to more accurately estimate costs. An accurate closing cost/net proceeds estimate is one of the biggest benefits a realtor can provide to their clients.
