HB 230 is a high priority bill that aims to eliminate the confusion over the timing of written buyer agreements, reinforcing Alabama’s RECAD framework, emphasizing early discussions of brokerage services and compensation, while protecting consumers from premature binding contracts.

The bill clarifies that buyers cannot be forced to sign a binding contract just to view a property and requires a written agreement before submitting an offer, promoting transparency and consistency in real estate transactions across Alabama.
