The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORSĀ® offers a variety of committees and clubs where members can get involved. These Association committees and clubs provide valuable services to the membership and community by:

  • Overseeing issues and interests pertinent to our members
  • Giving back to the community
  • Enhancing networking opportunities
  • Facilitating key member activities

HAAR Committees

Committee members monitor the committee’s progress towards assigned fundraising goals and have events to assist meeting those goals.

This committee is charged with evaluating, revising and recommending changes to the Bylaws of the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORSĀ® and the North Alabama Multiple Listing Service. The committee will determine changes that need to be made to the Bylaws and recommend those changes/revisions to the Board of Directors. Revisions may result from directives from the National Association of REALTORSĀ®, the Alabama Association of REALTORSĀ®, the Board of Directors, other committees or from the membership.

This committee meets as necessary. Schedules and coordinates weekly tour of homes actively listed on the market for viewing by REALTORSĀ®. The committee also reviews and recommends policy on caravan requirements and etiquette.

Educates and informs the membership on the relevance of Legislative and regulatory issues as they affect our industry. Also, monitor legislative activity regarding the real estate industry on a local, state and national level. The committee is responsible for informing the Association of any such activity deemed appropriate and makes recommendations to the board of directors regarding legislative activity.

This committee evaluates ethics complaints and requests for arbitration from REALTORSĀ® and members of the public. After evaluation the complaints and requests are dismissed or referred to the Professional Standards Committee for the appropriate hearing.

This committee is charged with working with the state and national associations, and encourages, promotes and arranges programs of education benefit to the membership.

This Committee reviews current content and delivery of information required by the Association Bylaws for new members. It makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for changes and improvements to the new member Orientation.

This committee provides the membership pool from which panel members are chosen for both ethics and arbitration hearings conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORSĀ®. MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND A MANDATORY CLASS ON 1/9/2018.

In cooperation with state and national associations and legal counsel, the Forms Committee reviews forms used by membership in the course of business. The Committee recommends wording and layout that is in the best interest of the public and the industry.

This committee meets on an as needed basis – The committee assists REALTORS in need whether it is from a personal tragedy or illness or as a result of a natural disaster.

This committee meets monthly. The Mission is: To provide a forum for practitioners to investigate, discuss, address issues and make recommendations related to Commercial Real Estate. To provide members an identity within their local market area that enhances their image in the corporate community and among commercial practitioners. To provide education, seminars and courses to keep members current on issues vital to Commercial Real Estate to better serve the public, and to promote the interest of members at the local, state and national levels.
